HUBUNGAN PERILAKU CUCI TANGAN 6 LANGKAH DENGAN RISIKO CACINGAN PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI 24 KOTA BANDA ACEH

Worm infection often occurs in areas with high humidity. This is especially true among people with poor hygiene and sanitation. Children are commonly affected because they frequently come in contact with soil. The presence of worms in the intestine causes iron loss. This can result in malnutrition and anemia. The study aims to determine the correlation between the 6-step hand washing behavior and the risk of worm infection among SDN 24 Banda Aceh students. This study employed a quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 162 respondents; the sample was 162 patients selected using a total population technique and proportional sampling. The study took place from June 12 to 18, 2025. The data was analysed using univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi-square test. The results showed a correlation between 6-step hand washing behavior and the risk of worm infection, with a p-value of 0.023 (p<0.05). The researchers urge students to practice proper and routine hand washing at school to prevent and reduce the risk of worm infection.
