HUBUNGAN KECANDUAN MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP PRESTASI AKADEMIK SISWA SMA NEGERI 1 KOTA JAMBI

Latar Belakang: Penggunaan media sosial yang berlebihan pada remaja berpotensi menimbulkan kecanduan yang dapat memengaruhi fungsi kognitif dan perilaku, sehingga dikhawatirkan berdampak pada prestasi akademik siswa. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kecanduan media sosial dengan prestasi akademik siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Kota Jambi. Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif analitik observasional dengan rancangan cross-sectional ini dilakukan pada Januari–Februari 2026 terhadap 95 siswa aktif kelas X, XI, dan XII yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Kecanduan media sosial diukur menggunakan kuesioner Social Media Disorder Scale (SMDS) versi Bahasa Indonesia, sedangkan prestasi akademik dinilai dari rata-rata nilai rapor semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2025/2026 yang dikategorikan menjadi A, B, C, dan D. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Spearman Rank Correlation dengan tingkat signifikansi p < 0,05. Hasil: Dari 95 responden, 53,7% tergolong mengalami kecanduan media sosial. Prestasi akademik didominasi kategori B (64,2%), diikuti kategori A (35,8%), tanpa ada siswa pada kategori C maupun D. Uji Spearman Rank menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kecanduan media sosial dengan prestasi akademik (r = -0,045; p = 0,667). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna secara statistik antara kecanduan media sosial dengan prestasi akademik siswa SMA Negeri 1 Kota Jambi, yang menunjukkan bahwa prestasi akademik dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang lebih komprehensif.
