PENGUATAN LITERASI ARGUMENTATIF MELALUI RETORIKA NARATIF DALAM PENULISAN ESAI BAHASA INDONESIA BAGI MAHASISWA UIN SATU TULUNGAGUNG

Penulisan esai beasiswa menuntut kemampuan literasi argumentatif yang tidak hanya menyusun informasi, tetapi juga membangun identitas akademik secara meyakinkan. Banyak mahasiswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memulai cerita, menyusun alur yang runtut, serta merumuskan tujuan studi dan kontribusi secara persuasif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penguatan literasi argumentatif melalui retorika naratif dalam penulisan esai Bahasa Indonesia bagi mahasiswa UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang didukung analisis kuantitatif sederhana. Data diperoleh melalui Google Form yang diisi peserta pelatihan penulisan esai beasiswa, berupa skala penilaian diri terhadap pemahaman esai persuasif dan kemampuan retorika, serta jawaban naratif mengenai pengalaman hidup yang dianggap mewakili diri, bagian tersulit dalam menulis esai, dan kesan terhadap kegiatan. Data kuantitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk memetakan kecenderungan persepsi literasi argumentatif, sedangkan data naratif dianalisis melalui pengkodean etos, pathos, dan logos, penemuan tema-tema konstruksi identitas, dan interpretasi kontekstual. Hasil penelitian diharapkan memotret pola cara mahasiswa menampilkan identitas akademiknya dalam esai, strategi retorika yang paling dominan digunakan, serta aspek-aspek kemampuan menulis yang masih membutuhkan penguatan. Temuan tersebut menjadi dasar penyusunan modul pelatihan penulisan esai berbasis retorika naratif dalam konteks Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia.
